The rich sauce combines miso, peanut butter, tahini, soy sauce, coconut milk and Cheers Chilli Crisp for plenty of savoury, umami flavour, while the dumplings bake on top and soak up all that deliciousness as they cook.
Best of all, almost everything goes straight into one baking dish, so less cleanup!
Add your favourite Dumpling Cheers dumplings, bake until the noodles are tender and the dumplings are cooked through, then finish with fresh coriander, sesame seeds and an extra spoonful of Cheers Chilli Crisp.
How to make a Creamy Dumpling & Noodle Bake?
Preheat your oven to 180°C fan-forced. In a large baking dish, combine the Cheers Chilli Crisp, grated garlic and ginger, spring onion whites, miso paste, maple syrup, rice wine vinegar, peanut butter, tahini and soy sauce. Mix everything together until combined.
Next pour in the coconut milk and hot vegetable stock, then stir well until the sauce is smooth and everything is evenly combined.
Place the 2min noodles into the baking dish and gently press them down so they’re submerged in the sauce. Arrange your favourite frozen Dumpling Cheers dumplings over the top.
Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for around 15 minutes, or until the noodles are al dente and the dumplings are cooked through.
Top with black sesame seeds, fresh coriander, sliced spring onion greens and an extra dash of Cheers Chilli Crisp. Serve hot straight from the baking dish.
Jason’s tips:
Make sure your noodles are submerged – Press the noodles into the sauce before baking so they cook evenly and soak up plenty of flavour. If parts of the noodles are sitting above the liquid, they can dry out before the rest are cooked.
Use hot stock – Starting with hot vegetable stock helps bring everything up to temperature quickly and gives the noodles and dumplings enough time to cook without leaving the dish in the oven for too long.
Give the sauce a good mix – Peanut butter, tahini and miso can take a little mixing to fully combine. Stir everything well before adding the noodles so you get the same creamy, savoury flavour in every bite.
Choose your favourite dumplings – This recipe works with any of your favourite Dumpling Cheers varieties, so you can easily change it up depending on what you have in the freezer.
Add extra Cheers Chilli Crisp at the end – The bake already has plenty of flavour, but a final spoonful of Cheers Chilli Crisp adds an extra hit of chilli, crunch and umami just before serving.
